[texts]A woman's thoughts about women - Craik, Dinah Maria Mulock, 1826-1887
Written by the author of "John Halifax, Gentleman" and printed on gilded pages, a portion of these "Thoughts" originally appeared in a series of essays printed in Chambers's Edinburgh Journal between 2 May and 19 December 1857. This advice book provided emotional support for middle class women of the mid-Nineteenth Century who wished to become more self-sufficient.
